How do you relax after a long day?

Cassie

I had a long day at work today – lots of meetings and menial tasks. I’m exhausted emotionally and wondering how you like to unwind and recharge before bed (or maybe you just go straight to bed).

Do you have any routines? Comfort meals? A soothing TV show? Let us know!

Alex

A relevant question since my day’s also been packed, lol. I don’t really have a routine per se, but what I’ve usually found helpful is just stepping back from my responsibilities for an hour or two and do something I don’t have to think about too much. For me this has been naps, taking nice bubble baths, reading a book/webcomic, watching ca videos on YouTube, or even just a splurge of Minecraft or Stardew Valley, or any other game I can just lose myself in for a bit without having to think (or feel) about it too much.

Putting on some music is one of my go-to relaxation methods. What music I choose varies a lot with my mood and whatever I’ve recently been into, but some of my go-to albums have been Fools by Lauren Aquilina, Living Room Songs by Ólafur Arnalds, Maybe I’m Dreaming by Owl City, Begin. by David Archuleta, the soundtracks for Journey and Moonlight… Some nice, chiller stuff.

I definitely need to beef up my relaxation playlists. I have a lot of instrumental and orchestral stuff on a playlist, but I usually listen to it when I’m doing work and need background noise that isn’t distracting. Maybe I need to make a separate playlist to maintain a mental barrier between the two. I’ll check out your recs!
