Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory

tale

Today, Square Enix announced the newest entry in the Kingdom Hearts series, Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. Melody of Memory is a rhythm game where you revisit worlds and memories from the series’ past, set to over 140 songs from Kingdom Hearts, Disney, and other titles. It has two-player and online modes as well.

Intriguingly, that’s not all there is to Melody of Memory. The trailer also shows scenes of Kairi looking for answers after the events of Kingdom Hearts III.

boy kingdom hearts sure loves an asset flip game don’t they?

I suppose it makes sense for them to do a Theatrhythm game though. The music is one of the few things that has remained consistently amazing throughout the series. It’s interesting to see that this game will come to Switch, too, since it’s been a long time since KH hit Nintendo consoles.

I’m a bit surprised it took them this long to create a KH-centric rhythm game, but I’m sure they just waited until they had a way to make it story relevant. With how the story is going, I’ve stopped trying to theorize and just stamp myself in for Normura’s Wild Ride!

It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. If I saw correctly, it’s gonna use over 140 songs. I wonder if that will just be limited to music that was scored for the games. I highly doubt they’ll include songs from Disney modules, but I can see them adding select Final Fantasy themes.
