Starting quarantine week off sick as hell. I think it’s just allergies or something else – my symptoms don’t line up with COVID-19 – but it’s still a bummer. I had some ambitious plans to give the apartment a good clean and establish more of a podcast backlog.

My grad program was already fully online, but my profs are making some adjustments to assignments that required us to work directly with students. I really need to start redoing my thesis, but it’s hard to focus on anything for too long right now.

I have two Nintendo Switch Online trial codes from preordering New Horizons digitally. I already have a subscription, so if anyone wants one, DM me.

Been making slow progress on getting my room all cleaned again. I have a buuunch of stuff from school to sort through, as well as some old stuff that’s just been sitting around.

I think I’m also going to be taking some time to start putting a list together of stuff to get for moving out into my own apartment (ideally around summer of next year, but that may get pushed back again depending on how stuff with COVID pans out, lol).

I cleaned my apartment yesterday too! It makes me anxious to have a messy space, so keeping tidy is important especially when working from home.

It’s a good call to pare down before moving, too. Moving is a pain in the ass, but you can lessen it by not having a lot of junk. Also shopping for home furnishings is like my #1 favorite thing to do

I feel like this post probably gives the impression that my apartment is nicely decorated. It isn’t. I have ambitions that do not match my wallet lol

quarantine day 5(?): i started making a korrasami playlist on spotify and also started reading through this list of recommended korrasami fanfic on twitter.

(I also have my own list somewhere, I need to dig it out again).

Dude it’s SO fun. Trawling through IKEA’s website for shit is borderline therapeutic for me lol.

I’ve been out incredibly sick since Tuesday with only starting to feel sort of back to normal today. I expect tomorrow and the weekend is to continue recover.

Also California has now issued a statewide shelter-in-home + closure of non-essential businesses. So I have that going for me now lol

EDIT:

boy i love being right

I’ve been doing my best to keep a routine going on while in my self-isolation. I’m currently going through the MCU movies, one per day, and it’s interesting seeing how the style of movies transformed. This re-watch actually started several weeks ago, but only now has the viewing been consistent. Today was Age of Ultron, which I still enjoy very well, and is definitely the true start of the larger storyline.

I have also tried to read more. Currently, I’m reading Loop by Koji Suzuki, the third novel in The Ring series (yes, that “The Ring”). The world Suzuki created is really different than what has been portrayed on film. While it stays supernatural, he tries to add a bit of pseudo-science into what’s going on. I read spiral a few months back which connects the curse to a “virus”, so reading both these books during this time feels…timely…
